Safety on board
The coach is the safest motorised means of transport of all. EUROBUS constantly strives to achieve the latest safety standards and to keep improving them. Our aim is to offer you safety as well as unique quality, so that you can enjoy your journeys with us even more.
In this short video, see the most important safety features on board your EUROBUS coach.
Experience
EUROBUS looks back on a long tradition. Since 1909 we have worked with all our strength to ensure the satisfaction and safety of our guests. We use our many years of experience to invest in your safety.
Operating licence
A licence is required to run a coach company. It entitles the company to transport passengers. EUROBUS holds the valid licence issued by the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) for commercial cross-border passenger transport by coach.
Tour guide / coach driver
Tour guides and coach drivers are aware of their responsibility. Each of our drivers is thoroughly trained and regularly takes part in internal and external safety and driving courses as well as further training. In addition, drivers must undergo regular medical checks as required by law.
Safety standards on board
EUROBUS operates one of the most modern coach fleets in Switzerland, with an average age of just 3.5 years. All EUROBUS coaches are fitted with seat belts, and wearing them is compulsory. On board, we show a film about our safety standards. In addition, a large number of vehicles are equipped with the latest assistance systems such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and driver attention assist.
Digital tachograph
All our coaches are fitted with the legally required tachograph. It records every movement of the coach and shows whether the driver has complied with the legally required rest and driving times. The tachograph is checked regularly by the authorities.
Speed
The maximum speed for coaches in Switzerland is 100 km/h. If this speed is exceeded, the automatic speed limiter intervenes and slows the engine down to the permitted maximum speed by itself.
Coach maintenance
Our coaches are put through their paces regularly. They undergo a technical inspection by the cantonal road traffic office once a year. All our vehicles meet the safety requirements set by the state and are also equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
Ordinance on working and rest hours (ARV)
Compliance with the statutory ordinance on the working and rest hours of professional motor vehicle drivers is taken for granted at EUROBUS. Driving and rest times, maximum weekly working hours and breaks are observed. The tachograph is used here as a means of control.
Emergency organisation
Even for minor emergencies, our on-call service is available to you around the clock. In the event of incidents of greater magnitude, a crisis team is formed, made up of a trained core team and external specialists. Here EUROBUS cooperates with the Travel Helpdesk of Allianz Insurance, which is responsible for looking after relatives in exceptional situations.
Insurance
EUROBUS is insured beyond the statutory requirements. Liability damage (passenger insurance) is insured for a sum of CHF 100 million per claim. An additional accident insurance covers, among other things, unlimited medical costs for 5 years as well as rescue and transport costs.
