Dream cities and white villages in Andalusia

Fiery Andalusia is one of Spain's most popular travel destinations. No wonder: travellers find magnificent cities such as Seville, Cordoba and Granada here, but also the famous white villages amid fascinatingly wild landscapes. And of course plenty of culture and Spanish joie de vivre. EUROBUS brings its guests to this wonderful region on carefully planned round trips. On the latest tour, Sulamith came along too – as a travel guest on the one hand, but also as an intern at EUROBUS. What experiences and impressions did she take home from the trip through Andalusia?

26-year-old Sulamith loves working with guests. For ten years she worked as a trained restaurant professional. Now comes the next step: further training at IST to become a qualified tourism professional HF. In the meantime she is doing an internship at EUROBUS, where she has already planned and carried out several trips. And for her first major trip with EUROBUS she chose the Andalusia round trip. Asked about her reasons, she says: «My parents are loyal EUROBUS customers and had booked the Andalusia tour. This way I can spend time with them and at the same time go on a study trip, so that I not only understand the theory but also get a feel for the product and real impressions of it.»

Ronda and Seville

Sulamith did not have to wait long for her first lasting impressions. Straight after landing in Malaga, the travellers were picked up by the EUROBUS driver and taken to Ronda in the Deluxe coach. «Ronda is one of the famous white villages,» explains Sulamith. «They are truly beautiful. Almost all the houses gleam with spotless white façades, freshly whitewashed twice a year. Not only for the beautiful look, but also to reduce the heat in the houses.» Sulamith was also impressed by the next stage of the trip – magnificent Seville. «From the Giralda Tower you enjoy a fantastic view over the whole city. And below, in the many lanes of the historic old town, the influences of the various cultures of the past are visible everywhere. Here, around the main square, Plaza Mayor, you will also find many fine restaurants – for example to try the delicious tapas.»

Cordoba and Granada

The fifth day of the trip led to another highlight – Cordoba. «A truly worthwhile city, whose old town with its many small lanes is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site,» sums up Sulamith. «Here you absolutely must visit the magnificent Mezquita Cathedral, an ancient mosque built in the Arabic style, but today used as a Christian church with an impressive high altar.» And then, of course, Granada was waiting for the travellers, above all the world-famous Alhambra fortress on the Sabikah hill. «The Alhambra is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site,» Sulamith knows, «and one of the most important examples of Moorish architecture in Spain. A visit to this fantastic complex is a must on any Andalusia trip. That said, a stroll through the historic old town with its many lively squares and lanes is also well worth it.»

And then the hotels and the great team spirit

Over the whole week-long trip through Andalusia, it was not only the many sights that impressed Sulamith. «I particularly liked the hotels, too.  They were exclusively very beautiful, luxurious 4-star hotels in the best locations, so you can reach all the sights of the place comfortably on foot.» Here, in the hotels, but also during the journeys in the Deluxe coach and the sightseeing, Sulamith also noticed the good atmosphere in the travel group. «By the second day the mood was already very relaxed and a warm rapport had spread through the whole group. People talked to each other and went for meals or coffee together.» So the Andalusia round trip was a complete success not only in the planning stage at the office?  «No,» says Sulamith, «now I know that the trips we plan so carefully at EUROBUS really become an unforgettable experience for the guests.»
