Mediterranean Dreams on the Costa Toscana: A Spring Adventure
Text: EUROBUS AG
As soon as she leaves Savona, the Costa Toscana draws all eyes. The majestic ship glides through the waves while the first travellers on board settle into their cabins.
Marseille, the oldest city in France, forms the first highlight of the trip. Here the travellers were free to go their own way and could explore the city on their own. Those who prefer comfort can book a trip to the centre directly on board the Costa Toscana. Whether alone, as a couple or in small groups, every guest can shape their shore excursions entirely as they wish. The mix of Mediterranean flair, the lively Old Port and the charming old town of Le Panier with its narrow lanes invites you to linger. “The small, hidden lanes and the view from the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde were an absolute dream,” says Heidi.
Another highlight awaits in Barcelona. Whether alone, as a couple or in small groups, the guests could explore the city at their own pace. A coach tour is particularly recommended for experiencing the many sights of this vibrant city in a short time. Between the mosaic tiles in Park Güell and the towers of the Sagrada Família, the life of the Catalan metropolis pulses. “Here you can simply let yourself drift, soak up the atmosphere and discover something new around every corner,” says Heidi.
In Palma de Mallorca the Mediterranean showed its relaxed side. Heidi chose an excursion to the famous Dragon Caves, an underground world of water-formed grottoes, impressive stalactites and magical light effects. This and other excursions can be booked directly through Costa. “The atmosphere in the cave was incredible, and the live classical music concert on Lake Martel was an unforgettable moment,” Heidi raves.
The day at sea was an invitation to simply let the soul unwind. Whether in the Solemio Spa, on the sun deck or with a cocktail in hand, the Costa Toscana offered a suitable spot to relax for everyone.
Palermo radiated a magic all of its own. The city is ideal for independent exploration, as the port lies right in the centre. “You can practically feel the history here; the mixture of Arab and Norman architecture makes Palermo a living museum,” Heidi describes. Civitavecchia was the last stop on this trip, the gateway to the Eternal City. From here the travel group made an excursion to Rome, where they followed in the footsteps of Michelangelo. His iconic works, including the ceiling frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, left a lasting impression.
Highlights on board – Costa Toscana
A floating hotel that leaves nothing to be desired: this is how Heidi describes the Costa Toscana. 13 pools and whirlpools, 11 restaurants and snack bars and 19 bars and lounges are spread across the whole ship. Heidi recalls: “I was particularly impressed by the culinary variety, from fresh seafood to pizza just like in Italy”. The ship also sets a good example in terms of environmental friendliness: the modern LNG engines make for a sustainable travel experience.
Comfort and enjoyment – included services
The cruise with EUROBUS is an all-round worry-free package. The outward and return journey is made in comfort in the Comfort coach. On board, guests are offered full board with varied menus. Particularly attractive for families: children up to 17.99 years travel free when a cabin is booked with two adults and pay only for the coach journey. Those who would like to treat themselves to something extra can choose from various drinks packages. There is a suitable offer here for every taste.
