Day 1: Switzerland - Tübingen

Journey to Tübingen, arriving at midday. A warm welcome to Germany's chocolate capital – at least in early December. Liquid, malleable or solid: chocolatiers from around the world show just how versatile chocolate can be at the Chocolate Festival. In show workshops, pralines are rolled into shape, chocolate marshmallow treats are piped, fruit skewers are dipped under the chocolate fountain and chocolate pictures are painted on canvas. Every year, chocolatiers from all over the world surprise visitors anew. The focus is not only on the many exotic types of chocolate; the producers also place great importance on production and processing. At all the market stalls, drinks are made with regional organic milk, and fairly produced chocolate has long been well established here.

Alternatively, you may first continue to Metzingen's Outlet City (optional) with more than 60 international top brands in flagship outlets and perhaps find a bargain or two. There are various restaurants and cafés where you can refresh yourself. In the late afternoon, a short drive back to Tübingen. In the evening hours, the historic half-timbered façades on the market square and at Holzmarkt are transformed into brightly illuminated works of art – an experience for all the senses.

Day 2: Tübingen - Switzerland

You will have another opportunity to stroll through the Chocolate Festival or the medieval old town. Return journey to Switzerland in the afternoon.

Chocolate Festival

In Tübingen's city centre, more than 100 exclusive chocolatiers and manufacturers from around the world invite you to marvel and taste. During "chocolART", light artists create fairytale illuminations throughout the old town. Market area: Marktplatz, Kirchgasse, Holzmarkt, Neckargasse, Neue Strasse, Hafengasse.
