Day 1: Switzerland - Pietrasanta
Journey from your boarding point via Ticino to Marina di Pietrasanta.
Day 2: Cinque Terre
Today you will visit the villages of the Cinque Terre. With its high rocky cliffs and vine-covered slopes, this region seems to have hardly any room for people. Yet small villages with tightly interlocking houses nestle in between. These places can often only be reached by narrow roads or from the sea. From La Spezia you travel by boat along the rugged coast to Vernazza. This Cinque Terre village, set on a small peninsula, delights with its old castle towers, a small harbour and a little piazza by the sea. You continue by boat to Monterosso. The small old town is separated from the newer district of Fegina by a rock jutting out into the sea, on which the striking watchtower Torre Aurora stands. In the afternoon you return by water to La Spezia. You stroll through the historic centre of Portovenere before returning to Marina di Pietrasanta.
Day 3: Portofino - Carrara
(Optional excursion) Drive along the Riviera di Levante to the spa town of Rapallo with its charming promenade. You switch to a boat and follow the rocky coastal landscape to the Portofino peninsula. Stop in the picturesque little harbour town with the opportunity for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade. From the church square of San Giorgio you enjoy a wonderful view over the town, and from Punta del Capo you can take in the entire Gulf of Tigullio. Boat trip via Santa Margherita back to Rapallo. In the afternoon you visit Carrara with its world-famous marble quarries.
Day 4: Italy - Switzerland
Return journey past Parma and across the plains of Lombardy back to Switzerland.
