Day 1: Switzerland - Lake Garda
Journey via the Reschen Pass and through the vast fruit-growing region of the Vinschgau (Val Venosta). Onwards via the Brenner motorway to the northern shore of Lake Garda at Torbole sul Garda. The village is nestled between Monte Baldo to the east and the Sarca plain to the north, and is particularly popular with windsurfing enthusiasts. Torbole was once a small fishing village. The little harbour with the old customs house and the Beust House is the most picturesque spot in Torbole. Goethe was already deeply impressed by Torbole. He described the wind as a magnificent natural phenomenon and a fascinating spectacle of nature. Goethe's enthusiastic descriptions inspired many young painters and poets over the past centuries to include Torbole on Lake Garda on their study trips through Italy.
Day 2: Limone and Malcesine
The boat takes you from Riva del Garda to Limone, "where the lemons blossom". The village lies sheltered from the wind in a beautiful bay, amid gardens, olive groves and citrus plantations. After a stroll, you continue by boat to Malcesine. You walk to the battlemented castle and through the cobbled lanes. You then return to Torbole by water.
Day 3: Castles & Lakes of Trentino
(Optional) Discover the magnificent lake landscape of Trentino. You begin with the turquoise Lago di Tenno, a piece of the Caribbean in the middle of the mountains. Other fantastic photo opportunities include the romantic moated castle on Lago di Toblino, the majestic Drena Castle and the ruins on the castle rock of Arco. You round off the wonderful day with a grappa tasting.
Day 4: Verona and Bardolino
You visit Verona, the splendid city of Romeo and Juliet. The wide squares of the old town, the historic Renaissance palaces, the Romanesque and Gothic churches and, of course, the Verona Arena will delight you. On the way back in the afternoon, you drive through the beautiful Bardolino wine region, where a wine tasting awaits you at an estate. Afterwards, you return to the hotel along the eastern shore of Lake Garda.
Day 5: Lake Garda - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
