Day 1: Switzerland - Heidelberg
Journey via Basel - Freiburg to Heidelberg. Arrival at approx. 1:30 pm. Take your time to stroll through the picturesque old town with its narrow lanes and slender houses. Heidelberg is rightly regarded as one of Germany's most beautiful cities. The harmonious ensemble of castle, old town and river amid the hills inspired the poets and painters of the Romantic era and still fascinates visitors from all over the world today. Enjoy the atmospheric setting and the attractive range of offerings. Roasted almonds, mulled wine and bratwurst, as well as handcrafted gift ideas, whet the appetite for a leisurely walk across the many other large and small squares of the Heidelberg Christmas market.
Day 2: Heidelberg (3-day trip)
Day at leisure.
Day 2 / 3: Heidelberg - Switzerland
Use the morning for a stroll through one of Europe's most beautiful pedestrian zones. 1:30 pm departure for the return journey via Karlsruhe - Freiburg back to Switzerland.
Shopping in Heidelberg
In the pedestrian zone you will find department stores, specialist shops and boutiques. In recent years, many interesting shops have also opened around Bismarckplatz and on Bergheimer Strasse. If you cross the bridge to the Neuenheim district, a walk along the lively Brückenstrasse is well worth it.
