Joie de vivre in the South of France From Burgundy to the heart of the Midi
A delightful journey from Burgundy to the Mediterranean, at a comfortable pace with plenty of time to savour it all. After a wine tasting in Beaune, you travel south to the Midi: Toulouse in warm brick red, the fortified city of Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi and the Pont du Gard. You will stay in charming hotels, some of them in the countryside, and experience the South of France at its most joyful.

Day 1: Switzerland - Burgundy
Journey to Beaune in Burgundy, the wine capital of the region. Stroll through the elegant old town with its typical colourful tiled roofs before tasting selected Burgundy wines at a winery. In the evening, you will enjoy an exclusive dinner featuring regional specialities.
Day 2: Burgundy - Toulouse
Drive south through the landscapes of the Auvergne. A stop in Clermont-Ferrand, with its cathedral built of dark volcanic stone, is a good option. In the afternoon, you reach your quietly located country hotel near Toulouse.
Day 3: Toulouse
Guided city tour of the «Ville Rose» with the Capitole and the Basilica of Saint-Sernin. The afternoon is free. Optionally, you can visit the Airbus factory; in case of short-notice cancellation, we will switch to the Aeroscopia aviation museum with the legendary Concorde.
Day 4: Albi
Excursion to Albi, whose old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On a guided tour, you will see the monumental Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, one of the largest brick buildings in Europe. The pink-hued lanes along the Tarn invite you to explore at leisure.
Day 5: Carcassonne - Canal du Midi
Guided walking tour of the mighty fortified city of Carcassonne. In Béziers, the famous Fonseranes lock staircase awaits you, followed by a relaxing boat trip on the Canal du Midi. Onward journey to the Mediterranean, to the Cap d'Agde area.
Day 6: Pont du Gard - Nîmes
In the morning, you visit the Pont du Gard, the impressive Roman aqueduct spanning the River Gardon. This is followed by a city tour of Nîmes with its magnificent amphitheatre, the well-preserved Maison Carrée and the Jardins de la Fontaine.
Day 7: Cap d'Agde - Switzerland
Return journey with a stop in Orange and its Roman theatre.

You will stay in carefully selected
4* hotels (official national rating). In Beaune, you stay in the centre of the charming wine town. Near Toulouse, a quietly located country hotel awaits you, ideal for relaxing in the countryside. On the Mediterranean coast around Cap d'Agde, you will stay pleasantly close to the water. All rooms have a bath or shower/WC. Equivalent hotels will be used if the hotels named are unavailable.
