Day 1: Switzerland - Lake Garda
You travel via the Gotthard to Ticino and past Milan towards Bergamo. During the afternoon, you reach the shores of Lake Garda.
Day 2: Excursion to Lake Garda
Excursion (optional) You cross the lake by boat and admire the loveliest spot on Lake Garda, San Vigilio, before going ashore in Garda. Garda is a picturesque town on the shore of Lake Garda in northern Italy. Its old town is a particular highlight, with narrow alleys, charming squares and an abundance of shops and restaurants. In the afternoon, you will have free time in Sirmione, whose location at the tip of a narrow peninsula is spectacular and unique. Thanks to a wide channel dug alongside the castle, the traffic-free old town has become an island.
Day 3: Excursion to Venice
Excursion (optional) From Tronchetto, you take a boat to the centre of Venice. The houses, built on wooden piles, form a tight tangle of streets, alleyways and canals. During the guided tour with the local guide, you will not only admire impressive palaces, St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, but also discover unfamiliar and hidden corners of the lagoon city. Afterwards, there will be time to explore the city at your leisure.
Day 4: Excursion to Verona
Excursion (optional) Drive to Verona: a storybook old town with historic façades around the Piazza delle Erbe, the former marketplace, and the most romantic love story of all time: Romeo and Juliet, with the most famous balcony in literary history.
In the evening, you will be treated to a delicious, typically Italian dinner at the magnificent country estate of the de Zinis family.
Day 5: Lake Garda - Switzerland
Return journey via Milan to Ticino and back to German-speaking Switzerland.
