NZZ Reader Trip: Munich Opera Festival Opera Maria Stuarda
Munich combines great opera with royal history and Bavarian joie de vivre. As part of the Munich Opera Festival, you will experience Donizetti's masterpiece «Maria Stuarda» at the Bavarian State Opera. A city tour, a visit to the magnificent Residenz and plenty of time to explore at your leisure complete this very special cultural trip. Day 1: Switzerland – Munich
Enjoy a comfortable journey to Munich by Car Rouge with 2+1 seating. In the early evening, an opera aperitif will set the mood for the musical highlight of the trip. You will then attend Gaetano Donizetti's «Maria Stuarda» at the Bavarian State Opera, one of the great masterpieces of Italian bel canto.
Day 3: Munich & optional opera
In the morning, you will visit the Munich Residenz, for centuries the seat of the Bavarian dukes, prince-electors and kings. On a guided tour, you will discover the magnificent. The afternoon is yours to enjoy. In the evening, there is the optional opportunity to experience Richard Strauss's «Ariadne auf Naxos» at the Gärtnerplatztheater.
Day 4: Munich - Switzerland
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Munich. With many musical and cultural impressions, you will begin your comfortable journey back to Switzerland.
