Day 1: Switzerland - Clermont-Ferrand
You travel via Geneva to Clermont-Ferrand.
The last boarding point in Switzerland is Geneva, Aéroport P6 Departure at 10.45 am.
Day 2: Clermont-Ferrand - Sarlat
In the Auvergne you cross a bizarre natural landscape with the craters of more than 100 extinct volcanoes. Enjoy a walk in Collonges-la-Rouge, one of the most beautiful villages in France. A true and almost entirely unknown gem is the charming and romantic Sarlat, with its tangle of little lanes and golden-yellow Renaissance houses.
Day 3: Lascaux - Dordogne
In the morning, visit the Gardens of Marqueyssac and the cliff village of Les Eyzies. Afterwards, explore the unique Lascaux Cave: Stone Age paintings of horses, bulls and bison adorn the walls of the grotto. In the Vézère Valley, Bruno, Chief of Police and bestselling hero of Martin Walker's novels, is at work.
Day 4: Périgueux - Wine estate
(Optional) Excursion to Périgueux, whose curiously domed cathedral and speciality shops invite you to stroll. The charming old wine town of Saint-Émilion delights with its underground Monolithic Church hewn out of the rock. Visit a wine estate in the region with tasting and evening buffet.
Day 5: Rocamadour - Castelnaud
The tiny old pilgrimage site of Rocamadour clings like a swallow's nest beneath the cliffs and towers above the majestic Alzou Canyon. A grandiose panorama over the Dordogne opens up before you at the medieval Château de Castelnaud.
Day 6: Sarlat - Tarn - Le Puy
The beautiful pink sandstone Cathedral of Notre-Dame is the landmark of Rodez. In contrast, the pretty pilgrimage town of Le Puy presents itself with its extinct volcanoes rising up in bizarre shapes.
Day 7: Le Puy - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
