Day 1: Switzerland - Rome
Journey to Rome.
Day 2: Ancient Rome
Rome is really an open-air museum. You begin your "tour of antiquity" on the Capitoline Hill with a wonderful overview of the Roman Forum. This is followed by the Colosseum and the Via dei Fori Imperiali with the Imperial Forums. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 3: Christian Rome
(Optional) Today you follow in the footsteps of Christian Rome with your tour guide, walking from the hotel to the Vatican with St Peter's Basilica. You will admire the largest basilica in Christendom with its precious furnishings. Visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.
Day 4: Alban Hills
(Optional) An excursion to the picturesque Alban Hills makes a charming contrast to the vibrant city life. Highlights include the idyllic Lake Albano and Castel Gandolfo, the Pope's summer residence. The day concludes with a wine tasting in Frascati, where you can enjoy regional wines and a light lunch with a magnificent view.
Day 5: Rome - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
