Day 1: Switzerland - Bochum
Journey to the Ruhr region. Arrival during the afternoon. You will be staying at the ACHAT Hotel Bochum Dortmund. For dinner, the many restaurants in the Ruhr Park right next to the hotel are at your disposal.
Day 2: Starlight Express
Today you can explore the city at your own pace or travel to Dortmund (optional). Dortmund is a vibrant city in the heart of the Ruhr region, known for its rich industrial history, the successful football club Borussia Dortmund and first-class shopping opportunities. With the Thier-Galerie and the popular Westenhellweg, the city centre offers a mix of international brands, local shops and large department stores that will delight any shopping enthusiast.
In the evening comes the highlight: like no other musical, STARLIGHT EXPRESS stands for innovation and records: on 12 June 2025, the legendary musical celebrated its 36th birthday in Bochum. During this sensational record-breaking run, around 880 performers from 27 nations have given more than 13,800 performances, covering many thousands of kilometres on their roller skates.
The secret to the roller-skating musical's success? A fascinating stage construction, elaborate costumes, rousing music, spectacular technology and a story that delights young and old alike. The success of STARLIGHT EXPRESS is also the result of the creative team's openness: over the years, STARLIGHT EXPRESS has been continually developed and so remains up to date.

Starlight Express Musical
The musical Starlight Express is an energetic spectacle that tells the story of a fictional train race in which various trains compete for the world championship title. The plot unfolds in the imagination of a little boy, whose toy trains come to life in his mind.
The main character is Rusty, a steam locomotive regarded as an outsider, who has to compete against modern trains such as the arrogantly fast diesel locomotive Greaseball and the ultra-modern electric locomotive Electra. Rusty is unsure whether he stands any chance at all in the technologically advanced world. He is supported by Pearl, a first-class carriage who believes in him, and by the old and wise Poppa.
