Day 1: Switzerland - Dresden
Journey to Dresden.
Day 2: Dresden
On a city tour, experience the special, distinctive and fascinating sides of Dresden and learn more about the city's eventful history. The cityscape is characterised by historic landmarks such as the Semperoper, the Frauenkirche, the Hofkirche and the Zwinger, an elaborate Baroque complex that houses several museums. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own, for example with a stroll along the banks of the Elbe.
Day 3: Spreewald
Journey to the Spreewald. This fairytale river landscape is so beautiful and unique that it has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1990. On a circular tour, you will learn all about life along the Spree's waterways. On a punt ride, you glide through primeval forests and lush flora and fauna, past thatched farmhouses. A gherkin presentation is of course a must, and naturally you will also have the chance to taste a gherkin.
Day 4: Saxon Switzerland
Journey to Freital. Here you change to the legendary steam train of the Weisseritztalbahn. Since 1882, this narrow-gauge railway with a 750 mm track width has steamed through fantastic landscapes, delighting every passenger. In Kipsdorf you rejoin the coach for a panoramic drive through the Eastern Ore Mountains and the wildly romantic Müglitz Valley. Ahead of you lies a magnificent, quirky landscape of fine Elbe sandstone: Saxon Switzerland!
Day 5: Dresden - Switzerland
Return journey to Switzerland.
