Day 1: Switzerland - Asti
Journey through Ticino to Vercelli. In the flat Po Valley on the edge of the Alps, one of Italy's most important staple foods thrives: rice. In Europe's largest growing region, a risotto tasting meal and a visit to the renowned Principato di Lucedio rice estate await you. Afterwards, continue to Asti.
Day 2: Asti - Barbaresco
City tour of Asti. Among other sights, you will see the late Gothic cathedral and the town church of San Secondo. At lunchtime, a wine tasting and lunch await you at the Marsaglia wine cellar. In the afternoon, you will drive through the Barbaresco area and stroll with your tour guide through the picturesque village of Barbaresco.
Day 3: Turin (5-day tour only)
(Optional) excursion to Turin. The metropolis shines with one of the most beautiful Baroque city centres in Europe. On the city tour you will see, among other sights, the Palazzo Carignano, the cathedral and the Church of San Lorenzo. In between, you will enjoy a Bicerin (a Turin speciality). The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own.
Day 3/4: Alba - Barolo
Guided walking tour of the historic centre of the "City of 100 Towers". Afterwards, there is time to shop in the boutiques or enjoy a cappuccino on a piazza. In the afternoon, a scenic drive through the Barolo region to La Morra. Enjoy the magnificent view from Piazza Castello over the vineyards and castles. At the Cantina Dosio, a wine tasting with a snack awaits you. You will enjoy the farewell dinner in a typical trattoria not far from the hotel.
Day 4/5: Asti - Switzerland
Before leaving Piedmont, you will visit the Berta grappa distillery, including a tasting. The journey home to Switzerland follows.
