When Travel Specialists Travel Together

This year's EUROBUS staff trip went to Geneva and Annecy. The highlights: culture and a great atmosphere.

EUROBUS staff know what makes a trip an experience. All year round they plan, organise and accompany journeys and holidays for our guests. At the beginning of February, for once, they were the guests themselves. This year's staff trip took them to Geneva and Annecy. Two days long and, of course, in the comfortable coaches of EUROBUS.

The start was early in the morning. Coach one was ready for boarding in Bassersdorf at 7.30 am sharp. Coach two set off from Windisch at 8 am. The last staff members boarded in Ruswil, Kölliken and Biel. And both coaches headed for the first stage of the journey. In Bern everyone met for a welcome and a first chat. There was also plenty of anticipation in the air for the two days of travel. The break, however, was short. Soon both coaches were on their way again towards Geneva.

Geneva – international and historic

The approach to Lake Geneva alone was impressive. The vastness of the lake, the gentle slopes above the shores. Then the two coaches reached the harbour of Nyon. Here the first surprise awaited the EUROBUS staff. An aperitif in a relaxed atmosphere and a short speech by Daniel Dicke, managing director of EUROBUS Package Tours. And only a little later all the staff were sitting in a restaurant in Geneva at the Plage des Eaux-Vives – with a view of the famous Jet d’Eau and a wonderful lasagne. Here CEO Patrick Nussbaumer explained the rest of the programme. While one group set off on a city tour of Geneva, the second group visited the Palais des Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations.
The EUROBUS staff spent the evening together at the Hilton hotel. Culinary delicacies were served here, and interesting but also funny conversations at the bar brought the first day to a close.

Annecy – the Venice of the Alps

The next day – after a generous breakfast – the visit to Annecy in France was on the programme. The coaches reached the “Venice of the Alps” around 11 am. The EUROBUS staff were able to convince themselves straight away, with an audio guide, that Annecy rightly bears this title. Picturesque canals wind through the historic old town with its cobbled streets and pastel-coloured buildings. It was easy to linger in this romantic atmosphere. And that is exactly what the travellers did. They used their free time to feast in one of the many restaurants or to look for a suitable souvenir that would remind them of this wonderful trip for a long time to come.

In the end there was a souvenir for everyone: the group photo in front of the coaches. Then it was time to board for the journey home. With conversations about what they had experienced and many new impressions.
