Day 1: Switzerland - Dresden

Journey via Ulm and Nuremberg to Dresden. Arrival in the evening at around 19:30.

Day 2: Dresden Christmas Market

In the morning you will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at a traditional bakery. During a guided bakery tour you will gain a completely new perspective on genuine Dresden Stollen. You will learn background knowledge and fascinating anecdotes that show everything that goes into offering these delicacies at the highest quality. Afterwards you will take a special Advent walk through Dresden's historic old town. Let yourself be enchanted by the colourful bustle of the Dresden Christmas markets! You will explore three of the most beautiful Christmas markets (Advent on the Neumarkt with the Frauenkirche, Stallhof with its medieval Christmas market, Striezelmarkt), the world-famous squares of Dresden's old town, the world's largest Ore Mountain step pyramid and the walk-in Schwibbogen.

Day 3: Saxon Elbe Valley

(Optional excursion) With a local guide, you will discover the Saxon Elbe Valley on a round trip. Among other places, visit Wackerbarth Castle, set amid the Radebeul vineyards. Marvel at the unique ensemble of Baroque palace and gardens, historic wine-growing landscape and modern wine and sparkling wine manufacture. You will be welcomed with a mulled wine, accompanied by an original Dresden Christstollen. A wine tasting is also a must. The journey continues to Meissen with its world-famous porcelain manufactory. Afterwards, a stroll through the picturesque old town is well worthwhile, past winding lanes, lovingly restored townhouses and cosy wine taverns, across the market square with its magnificent town hall, and up to the Burgberg with the Albrechtsburg and the cathedral. Alternatively, enjoy your time in Dresden at your own leisure.
