We Keep Learning …
“Whoever always does what he already can, will always remain what he already is,” says a saying by Henry Ford, so beautifully.
That is why we place great importance on CONTINUING TRAINING, which is a compulsory part of the programme for our coach drivers. This year's training days were devoted entirely to travelling fitter and healthier, communicating successfully with passengers, and the area of social media.
You might think that misunderstandings would become fewer with technological progress. Far from it. Misunderstandings are unavoidable and a fixed part of our daily lives. But how do misunderstandings come about in the first place, and how can they be reduced? From communication expert Beat Meyer we learn that it is primarily not about what we say, but how we say it. Facial expressions, gestures and body language play an enormously important role in communication. By creating an awareness of these facts, many misunderstandings can be avoided and an open and trusting relationship with the customer can be built.
In Annik Stucki's module we dive into the world of digital technologies. What do new media mean, what is social media? In this course we look at the development of the media world. What does this mean for EUROBUS, why do we need to engage with it and how can we use social media profitably? The drivers learn how they can do their part with photos and stories and what matters in doing so. We also discuss how private profiles can be used and what we need to watch out for.
Safety comes first at EUROBUS, and compliance with the statutory ordinance on working and rest hours (ARV) for professional motor vehicle drivers is a matter of course at EUROBUS. Martin Reiser, driving instructor for heavy motor vehicles and head of the EUROBUS Group's training and further education centre, goes over the key points of the ARV with us and brings real cases from practice closer to us with a question-and-answer game. We also get to know the new, intelligent tachograph, which becomes mandatory from mid-June for all newly registered vehicles. The smart tachograph enables the inspection authority to check data from the tachograph without having to stop the vehicle, automatically records the vehicle's position and makes it easier for the user to operate.
The last module is entirely devoted to health. How do I eat optimally before, during and after my shift? How do I get more exercise into everyday life? Which simple, short exercises can I build into my daily routine and also practise on the road? How do I prevent poor posture, and how can I release muscular tension myself with the help of a massage ball? We learn this and much more from Jean-Marc Stettler.
